It is with great regret that the Institute passes on the sad news of the death of Lord Rodger of Earlsferry, justice of the UK Supreme Court. Lord Rodger was one of the most respected Roman and comparative lawyers of his generation. The Institute was privileged to have his presence at the ECTIL 10th Anniversary celebrations where he spoke on the House of Lords' reliance on Roman and comparative law in its
Fairchild decision of 2002.
