Nora Wallner was born in 1981 and studied law at the universities of Graz and Fribourg (CH). She completed her studies in 2003 as fifth best law graduate for the academic year, 2002/2003. In summer 2002 she undertook a traineeship at the UVS Steiermark (Unabhängiger Verwaltungssenat) and in summer 2003 she worked for the EU-Office of the Wirtschaftskammer Österreich in Brussels. In April 2006 she finished her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. Peter Strasser, University of Graz ("Gemeinwohl und Risiko in der Forschung am Menschen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der AMG-Novelle 2004").
From September 2004 to November 2007 she was employed as a research assistant at the European Centre of Tort and Insurance Law as well as a banking assistant of Prof. Koziol at the BWG. Since November 2007 she has been a staff member of the Institute for European Tort Law of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
